I bring over 20 years of experience across the not-for-profit, local government, and international development sectors, with a background spanning palliative and hospice care, community engagement, family support, aged care, and multicultural services.
My work is grounded in community development principles - supporting people, groups, and organisations to come together, make sense of what matters most, and take meaningful, collective action.
I work at the intersection of end-of-life care, community development, and education - supporting organisations and communities to build confidence, capacity, and shared responsibility around dying, death, and grief.
This includes strengthening both formal services and the informal networks of care that surround them.
My work is based on a public health approach to palliative and bereavement care, with a belief that care and grief are not carried by systems alone, but by communities together. I’m interested in fostering compassionate communities where people feel more equipped and supported to care for one another through illness, dying, and loss.
In addition to my focus on end-of-life care, I also contribute to broader community development and engagement projects across sectors, always bringing a relational, collaborative, community-led approach.
I work with:
aged care and health organisations
palliative care services
local councils and community organisations
neighbourhood centres and community groups
and individuals or small groups exploring community-led initiatives
This work takes many forms, including:
Facilitating workshops on end-of-life communication and conversations (including with aged care staff)
Designing and hosting community conversations about caring, death and grief
Supporting community memorial events and gatherings
Facilitating social connection and wellbeing initiatives
Project design, coordination and delivery
Grant writing and funding strategy
Resource and toolkit development
Workshop design and facilitation across community and health settings
My approach is collaborative, thoughtful, and practical - combining warmth and clarity with a focus on turning ideas into sustainable, real-world action.
Together, we can develop community-led approaches that strengthen connection, build confidence, and support more compassionate ways of caring in life and death.
